AI and Copyright Regulatory Update

11:15 - 12:00

Earlier this year, CILIP joined fellow members of the Creative Rights in AI Coalition, calling on the government to encourage more transparent business models and compliance with UK laws when it comes to the use of creative content in building generative AI.

In this session we will be joined by Naomi Korn, CEO of Naomi Korn Associates, Jane Secker, Senior Lecturer in Educational Development, City, University of London and Sebastian Cuttill, Parliamentary and Campaigns Manager at the News Media Association, to explore an update on the latest regulatory issues around copyright and AI. Our panel, representing the creative and academic sectors, will also discuss the ethical implications of copyright and AI in the context of rights erosion and broader information literacy.
