Sara Ewing
Sara has a background in community-based organisations, with a particular interest in access to education for marginalised and stigmatised populations. She has taught and travelled in the USA, Europe, Central and South America, Africa and the Middle East. These experiences helped inform and motivate her academic interests in hierarchies of knowledge and legitimacy in research and pedagogy. Sara’s research and practice engage with the interplay between language, society and the individual, with an emphasis on how this creates and maintains social values, identities, policies and institutions. Sara specialises in integrating Decolonising theories and approaches with discipline-specific Academic Literacies provision.
