The sector’s response to the UN Sustainable Development Goals

12:15 - 13:00

Staggered session time – 12.25 – 13.10

Chair: Rabeea Arif, CILIP

As part of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, the United Nations has set 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) – an ‘urgent call for action’ towards peace, prosperity and reduced inequality while tackling climate change and preserving Earth’s fragile ecology.

With a focus on climate action, this session will explore our sector’s response to the SDG’s. Featuring insights from Stephen Sykes, Director at Liverpool’s 2030 hub – the world’s first UN Local2030 Hub built around the 17 SDG’s – on how they mobilised a city. And Gobinda Chowdhury on how we, as information professionals, can impact the mapping and reporting of the UK’s progress.
