Cyber Security: the current threat landscape and data breach preparedness

In October 2023, the British Library suffered a major ransomware cyber attack, with huge disruption to platforms and services, and the release of data on the dark web.

This session will explore the current cyber threat landscape, providing an overview of emerging trends and threats the sector should be aware of. We’ll also hear from Liz Jolly, Chief Librarian at the British Library, on the lessons learned following their recent post-incident report. Jim Steven, Head of Crisis and Data Breach Response at Experian will also be joining us to discuss a data breach preparedness strategy and how best to plan for a crisis response.
