Collections go green: Accrediting sustainable library design
Staggered session time – 15.10 – 15.40
In this session, Kirsty Shankland will present the latest methodologies and accreditations the architecture and design sector is employing to help libraries meet the climate emergency. Through three illustrative examples – the recently-opened Library and Study Centre at St John’s College, Oxford, the future Spencer Building at Corpus Christi College, Oxford (2024), and the award-winning Lambeth Palace Library and Archive in London – Kirsty will showcase how world-class libraries and collections are ensuring their long-term sustainability and communicating measurable performance for stakeholders, audiences, and supporters alike.
