|Copyright, data protection and ethics: the big picture
This practical workshop will explore the relationship between copyright, data protection and ethics. Naomi will set the broader legislative, policy, technological and philosophical context. She will then invite participants to discuss specific scenarios which they might encounter as part of their work and examine the sorts of practical, legal compliance and risk related steers which might impact their next steps.
Naomi Korn is the Managing Director of Naomi Korn Associates www.naomikorn.com. She is an HLF Advisor, a CREATe Industry Fellow and a visiting lecturer at City University, University College London and Kingston University. Naomi is the former Chair, Libraries and Archives Copyright Alliance (LACA) from 2013 – 2017. During this period, she led the reform of the UK’s copyright laws on behalf of the cultural heritage sector, which resulting in new exceptions to copyright in 2014. Naomi Korn was a CILIP Trustee (2015-8) and she sets the programme and chairs the annual CILIP Copyright Conference.
